The Goochland County Public School teachers are real HEROES for the extraordinary work they are doing to support their students. They are working through the online platform, emails, phone calls and even delivering hard copies of work for the students who do not have internet service. And we know they do this from their hearts and their own resources. The GEF wants to do what we can to give these teachers the support they need. We can’t hug them or bring them chocolate chip cookies, but we can let them know that we, as a community, are there for them by providing critical funds to cover the added costs.
The situation we are living in is harder on some children than others; and our teachers are going the extra mile for these children. We feel an obligation to do what we can for them. Without their heroic efforts we don’t even want to think about how far behind our students would be when life goes back to “normal”.
