Goochland Education Foundation recently hosted a luncheon for their donors that included delicious food prepared by Chef Booth and his culinary students, and a virtual reality demonstration.
Matt Caratachea, Calypso Gilstrap, School Librarian at GHS, and Catherine Richards, Instructional Technology Coach along with a couple of their students demonstrated the Virtual Reality (VR) program that is supporting curriculum. The GEF has fully funded the VR program since it creates meaningful learning experiences for students that would otherwise be impossible. This program not only benefits students with different learning styles and challenges, but it also benefits students from the underserved community who don’t have easy access to virtual reality the way many of their class peers do.
