Marble mazes, snap circuits, sketchbooks, and a rousing game of Twister: afternoons at GEF EdVentures just got a lot more hands-on, thanks to the generous support of TowneBank.
TowneBank’s gift helped fund a new set of themed enrichment kits for GEF EdVentures, the Goochland Education Foundation’s after-school program at Byrd, Goochland, and Randolph Elementary Schools. The kits give students engaging, high-quality learning experiences beyond the regular after-school curriculum. They support STEM exploration, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, fine-motor development, and positive social interaction.

What’s inside the kits:
- Marble Maze Kit: Marble-run sets that put sequencing, gravity, and problem-solving to the test
- Sketchbook Kit: Sketchbooks, drawing pens, and alcohol markers for drawing, design, and visual expression
- Snap Circuits Kit: Magnet Fun Lab and Arcade sets for exploring circuits, magnetism, and engineering
- Manipulatives Kit: Building discs, KEVA challenges, Brain Flakes, fort building, and a wooden puzzle that build spatial reasoning and creativity
- Games Kit: Twister, UNO, Yahtzee, Large Checkers, and Jenga for movement, strategy, and cooperative play
Wheeled storage containers keep everything organized and protected while the kits are on the move.
One investment, every site
The kits travel from school to school throughout the year. Each month, every EdVentures program director brings two kits to their site and builds them into planned enrichment activities. At the end of the month, the kits rotate, and each site director receives two different kits. This means TowneBank’s support reaches students at every EdVentures site and keeps activities fresh and equitable all year long.
