Scholarships

The Goochland Education Foundation believes education is a catalyst for positive change, a force that can transform the lives of individuals and families, and advance the economic and civic health of societies. We further recognize the importance of higher education and believe post-secondary opportunities should be open to all who have the potential to succeed, regardless of economic background or lack of resources.

Scholarships offered:

The Goochland Education Foundation awards three scholarships annually to Seniors at Goochland High School who have demonstrated significant academic achievement, to continue their studies at a post-secondary institution (four-year college/university, community college, career/technical training, fine arts or performing arts school, or other career preparation institutions or programs).

DEADLINE: MAY 1, 2024

The Goochland Education Foundation offers a scholarship fund for students participating in the Debate Team or the public speaking or debate classes. This scholarship will award $5,000 to a graduating senior continuing their studies at a post-secondary institution (four-year college/university, community college, career/technical training, fine arts or performing arts school, or other career preparation institutions or programs).

The scholarship, facilitated by the Goochland Education Foundation and supported by the Quarles family, is in memory of Mr. Quarles, whose passion and commitment were to provide the best education for all students in Goochland County. The scholarship of $1,000 is awarded to a student who is pursuing a two year or four-year college career.

Rassawek Ventures Vocational Scholarship of $5,000 is awarded to a Goochland County Public High School graduating senior planning to attend a community college, or trade/vocational school to pursue a career in industries such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, automobile mechanics, fine or performing arts, culinary, or agriculture.

The student must be accepted to a post-secondary institution two-year community college, career/technical training, fine arts or performing arts school, or other career preparation institutions or programs.

The scholarship, facilitated by the Goochland Education Foundation and supported by the Starke family in memory of the son, 2013 Goochland High School graduate and baseball player, Cole Starke, is in the amount of $1,000 and is awarded to a GHS varsity softball or baseball player.
