The Goochland Education Foundation believes education is a catalyst for positive change, a force that can transform the lives of individuals and families, and advance the economic and civic health of societies. We further recognize the importance of higher education and believe post-secondary opportunities should be open to all who have the potential to succeed, regardless of economic background or lack of resources.
Scholarships offered:
The Audrey Hirsch and Linda Major Scholarship will award $1,000 to a graduating senior continuing their studies at a post-secondary institution (four-year college/university, community college, career/technical training, fine arts or performing arts school, or other career preparation institutions or programs).
The Bluebird Vocational Scholarship is awarded to a Goochland County Public High School graduating senior who is preparing for a career in the skilled trades. This $2,500 award is intended to recognize hardworking, motivated students who value hands-on learning, problem-solving, and the opportunity to build a strong future through technical skill. Whether your goal is to become an electrician, carpenter, welder, mechanic, chef, or pursue some other essential trade, this scholarship rewards your dedication and encourages you to take the next step toward your career. If you are planning to attend a community college or trade/vocational school to pursue such a career, we invite you to apply and share your passion for learning a trade that keeps our communities moving forward. The Bulldog Scholarship recognizes high school students who go above and beyond—excelling in their studies while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Five $1,000 Bulldog Scholarships are awarded annually to students who pair academic achievement with a strong spirit of service, demonstrating leadership, compassion, and a commitment to building stronger communities.
